As you progress through each wave, the difficulty ramps up significantly: early waves feature slow-moving basic enemies that drift straight down, but soon you will encounter red armored enemies that take multiple hits to destroy, fast enemies that zip across the screen at high speed, zigzag-moving enemies with unpredictable flight paths, and even larger boss-type foes that absorb heavy damage before going down. Each enemy destroyed adds to your score, and clearing an entire wave grants bonus points before the next wave begins with even greater numbers and tougher opponents. Power-up items drop randomly from defeated enemies and are essential for survival in later waves — the shield item (❤️) grants you an extra hit point so you can absorb one collision without dying, the multi-shot item (🔫) upgrades your weapon to fire multiple bullets simultaneously in a spread pattern for devastating area damage, and the speed boost item (⚡) temporarily increases your movement speed so you can dodge through tight gaps in enemy formations.
